Sometimes law firms do not have experience and expertise in every cross-border and foreign jurisdictions and cannot provide a full service for their clients who are trading internationally. We provide the opportunity for other law firms to collaborate with the silk law consultants to take advice on discrete issues relating to cross-border matters and collaborate in the joint representation of the client. Our consultants are operating at the highest levels in their areas of specialisation and law firms and their individual clients are able to benefit from selective advice as and when needed for any particular matter. The consultants are operating as individuals, and not as more firms, and provide their services as and when required. This may be on a limited/one-off basis or to engage more broadly in a particular legal issue. It is entirely up to the client how much the consultant is engaged. It could be just an initial meeting or conference, a single piece of advice or written opinion, or it could be engagement in an ongoing dispute that requires greater involvement. This is entirely a matter of choice for the law firm and the client. There is no obligation whatsoever to engage with the consultant over and above the request and needs of the client.

Lawyers, corporate and individual clients can contact the Silk Law Consultancy either through its offices in Xi’an, Geneva or London. We can take your instructions in Chinese, French or English as you find most convenient. We will take your details and the particulars of the issue that you wish to seek assistance for. We will make an initial assessment of your needs and how we can best assist you. The Silk Law Consultancy will provide you with a quote for that assistance if you want to go further. If you have a cross-border matter of complexity or specialisation that requires assistance from one of our consultants then you will be provided with a quotation for that assistance.
